FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, is the most popular method for sending files to a web hosting account. With an FTP client that is pre-installed on your desktop computer or laptop, you can set up a connection to your hosting server and copy all of the website files that you need with a couple of mouse clicks. This is done using a simple-to-navigate GUI and it is as simple as dragging and dropping the aforementioned files. The advantage of using File Transfer Protocol is the fact that you’re able to create different FTP accounts, each with a different level of access to your online storage space, so if you would like to give someone access, for example – a designer, they’ll be able to connect only to one particular directory and will not be able to see the rest of your web content or any other information, such as private details. Three prerequisites are necessary to be able to make an FTP connection – a hostname, which is usually an IP address or a domain name, a user name and a password.
FTP Accounts in Cloud Hosting
Any of the cloud hosting plans offered by our company will enable you to create unlimited FTP accounts, so you will be able to manage the content of your Internet sites independently or to provide other persons with access to any site in your hosting account. If you have a web design software application pre-installed on your computer, you’ll be able to maintain numerous Internet sites simultaneously and to keep them updated without a hitch. In case you give the login credentials to another individual to do a certain task, you will be able to change the password for that FTP account or to delete it entirely with only a couple of clicks and avoid any possibility of unsolicited access to your content from then on. FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you host your sites under a semi-dedicated server account, you’ll be able to create a different FTP account for each of them, since we have not restricted this service with any of our semi-dedicated plans. You can do this through the FTP section of our easy-to-work-with Hepsia Control Panel where you can also see the full list of all the accounts that you’ve created, together with the folder that each one of them can connect to. If needed, you’ll be able to change the password for a certain account or to modify its access path with a couple of mouse clicks. You can also delete an account without effort if you no longer require it – for instance, if you’ve hired a designer who is finished with the website and you do not want them to be able to connect to your web files anymore. FTP Accounts in VPS Servers
The VPS server packages that we’re offering will allow you to set up an unlimited number of FTP accounts to manage the content of your sites. This is valid regardless of which package you buy and which hosting Control Panel you pick during the order procedure – cPanel, DirectAdmin or Hepsia. In any case, you will be provided with FTP access to the machine without having to install any kind of software, as an FTP server is part of the basic software bundle which comes with the Virtual Private Server plans by default. You can set up one FTP account for every domain or subdomain that you’ve got or even multiple accounts for one single directory – if you want several users to be able to access the website content in it using their own sign-in credentials. With each of the offered Control Panels, creating, deleting or modifying an FTP account requires no more than a couple of mouse clicks via a simple-to-navigate interface.
